Alameda Creek Hike for Hospice
Today, Saturday May 1st, we did a special hike for Hope Hospice. We was the first Hike for Hope and a beautiful, sunny, warm spring day. Each of us wore a lanyard with photo of someone dear to us who had passed away–fathers, mothers, and friends were mentioned as we gathered to tell each other who we were remembering today.
We had 13 hikers including both members of the Friday Newcomer Hikers and guests. Today’s hikers were Cheryl D., Rose T., Tina D., Aleta S., Marilyn H., Sharon M., Shanna, (Sharon M’s daughter), Gale P., Bobbi J., Fran M., Esther G., Joan D., and Sharon K.
We all hiked along the Ohlone Rd next to Alameda Creek to Yosemite Falls enjoying a man playing the flute and birds singing, water rushing over rocks, and wildflowers blooming. Some of the hikers hiked the longer hike through the hills. For all it was a memorable day.
Thank you everyone who supported us. Our group raised over $400 for Hope Hospice.
